NORRIS COMMUNICATIONS SIGNS DEFINITIVE AGREEMENT WITH BREAN MURRAY

POWAY, Calif., Jan. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Norris Communications Corp. ("Norris") today announced that it has signed a definitive agreement with Brean Murray Associates (BMA), a Wall Street investment group, wherein $2,000,000 in funding has been paid to Norris and its subsidiary, Norcom Communications Corp. Norris received $750,000 of the funds directly with the balance being put into Norcom to further fund marketing and development of the EarPHONE(TM) technology. Terms of the agreement call for a second installment to be made in mid-1993. In a related action, it was also announced that the name Norcom has been changed to JABRA Corp. JABRA Corp., which will be operated independently from Norris, has relocated to La Jolla, Calif. It will continue to develop its business under the guidance of Brean Murray Associates and JABRA's President Randy Granovetter. The definitive agreement between Norris and Brean Murray Associates contemplates an effort to sell additional JABRA stock later in 1993, including both sales by Norris for its own account from its remaining stock interest and sales by JABRA of newly issued stock to raise more money for its ongoing operations.
Norris also announced that in the Jan. 11, 1993, issue of BusinessWeek magazine, the EarPHONE invention (described therein as a JABRA product) was selected as one of the "Best of 1992." This is a significant honor for the company and, of course, its President Elwood Norris, its inventor -- especially in light of the fact that several thousand innovative products were considered including many from large corporations with substantially larger R&D budgets.
On Dec. 18, 1992, the company moved its entire operation into a new facility located across the street from its former location. Norris Communications, ASMD, Sage Micro and CadCo are now together under one roof. The new address is 12725 Stowe Drive in San Diego. The company is now well situated in the building and is fully operational. An open house will be scheduled for later this quarter.
The common stock of Poway-based Norris is publicly traded on the U.S. OTC Bulletin Board and on the Vancouver Stock Exchange.
