NORFOLK SOUTHERN RESIDENT VICE PRESIDENT JOHN M. BAKER TO ASSUME ADDITIONAL PUBLIC AFFAIRS RESPONSIBILITIES IN MISSISSIPPI

 NORFOLK, Va., Nov. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- John M. Baker, resident vice president-Public Affairs in Alabama for Norfolk Southern Corporation (NYSE: NSC), will assume additional public affairs responsibilities in Mississippi.
 The appointment, announced by James L. Granum, vice president-Public Affairs of Norfolk Southern, is effective immediately.
 Baker will be the liaison with the Mississippi Department of Transportation and will work with local and state government on legislative and regulatory issues affecting railroads, grade crossing safety, and matters of general concern to the rail industry in Mississippi.
 He will continue to serve as resident vice president in Alabama and will keep his office in Montgomery.
