Increased Reliability and Advanced IPv6 Support

Juniper Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq:JNPR JNPR Juniper Networks, Inc. (stock symbol) ) and Imtech Telecom Sweden today announced that NORDUnet, the IP infrastructure for research and education networks in the Nordics, has selected Juniper Networks infranet-ready T-series routing platforms to increase the reliability and performance of its infrastructure, while supporting a number of advanced IPv6 projects.

NORDUnet is the Nordic Internet highway for research and education networks in Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden, and provides the Nordic backbone for the Global Information Society. As an R&E network, NORDUnet and its members are at the forefront of the latest network developments, particularly in the area of IPv6. Consequently, they require robust, highly scalable routing platforms that support advanced protocols such as IPv6 without performance compromise. The Juniper Networks T-series platforms were the ideal choice.

"We needed a reliable 10Gbit/s platform that is capable of forwarding IPv6 traffic at line rate. The Juniper Networks solutions provided us with a solid IPv6 implementation. With many R&E networks relying on our network infrastructure it is exactly what we needed," said Peter Villemoes, managing director, at NORDUnet.

"This win is further evidence that Juniper Networks platforms deliver the high performance required by cutting edge research and education networks. The architecture of the Juniper Networks solutions allows for extreme packet processing power at multi gigabit speeds, while supporting next generation protocols such as IPv6. We're excited to be working with organizations that are pioneers in the deployment of advanced networks," said Eddie Minshull, vice president, EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa) Refers to that region of the world. For example, one might see products packaged differently for the UK, EMEA and Asia Pacific markets.  Operations at Juniper Networks.

Imtech Telecom Sweden, the local Juniper Networks partner, is responsible for the supply and installation of the routing platforms and for support and maintenance. The project includes T640 as well as T320 routing platforms.
