NORDSTROM DONATES, PLANTS TREES IN BALLARD AND INTERNATIONAL DISTRICT

 SEATTLE, March 29 /PRNewswire/ -- To celebrate a successful campaign to save 45 million pages of paper, Nordstrom (NASDAQ: NOBE) will donate and plant 75 trees in the Seattle area April 1, the company said today.
 Nordstrom employees will plant 35 evergreen trees at Gatzert Elementary School (1301 E. Yesler Way) in the International District beginning at noon. The trees include zelkova, pine, fir, sequoia, hemlock, cedar and spruce. In Ballard, Nordstrom workers will plant 40 trees in the city's downtown on Leary Way from 17th NW to Bergen Place beginning at noon as well.
 Nordstrom has saved 45 million pages of report paper since the company created its Information Express department two years ago. The company encourages employees to use on-line computer systems rather than physical paper reports. Information Express has doubled the amount of information on each report page and eliminated unneeded reports altogether.
 Nordstrom is committed to preserving the Earth's natural resources. In addition to its conservation programs, Nordstrom actively recycles and purchases products made with recycled materials.
