NOBEL PRIZE POET AT UCLA TONIGHT.

Even after T.S. Eliot labeled it ``the cruelest month,'' someone got the idea to make April a time to celebrate poetry.

Regardless of that cruel irony, there is a wonderful way to enjoy verse: Listen to the 1995 Nobel Prize Nobel Prize, award given for outstanding achievement in physics, chemistry, physiology or medicine, peace, or literature. The awards were established by the will of Alfred Nobel, who left a fund to provide annual prizes in the five areas listed above.  winner in Literature, Seamus Heaney Seamus Justin Heaney (IPA: /ˈʃeɪməs ˈhiːni/) (born 13 April 1939) is an Irish poet, writer and lecturer who was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1995. Called ``the most important Irish poet since Yeats'' by Robert Lowell, Heaney is the author of numerous books of poetry, prose and essays. His new book of poems, ``Electric Light'' (Farrar), is out in stores this month.

While not all poets are considered good ambassadors of their works, Heaney is noted for his strong dramatic readings.
