With seniors Jacy Armbruster and Kenny Jackson Kenny Jackson (born February 15, 1962, in Neptune, New Jersey) is a former professional American football player. He played wide receiver for eight seasons in the National Football League and was twice named a collegiate All-American at Penn State University (1982 and 1983).  unable to play, the Mustangs lost 89-74 to a then-streaking Cougars' team that parlayed that win into the No. 1 ranking in the NAIA's Division I top-25 poll.

fell to fourth in this week's poll, but that should hardly sour the enthusiasm when the Cougars and Mustangs meet tonight at 7:30 at Bross Gym.

The Mustangs are hoping for a turnout similar to last year's game against then-No. 1 Life University (Ga.). The Master's lost that game 96-92, but the game was almost a footnote Text that appears at the bottom of a page that adds explanation. It is often used to give credit to the source of information.  overflow crowd.

``I know we'll have a good turnout,'' Mustangs coach Bill Oates said. ``We've had a number of games over the year where we've had very, very good crowds. I think this will be one of those games.''

Both Armbruster and senior point guard Dominic Avila described the atmosphere at the Life game as one of the most electric they can remember.

But while the loss to the Eagles last season was disappointing, it didn't affect the Mustangs' postseason plans. However, losing to College of West Virginia (20-2) tonight would all but dash any hopes of reaching the national tournament. At 16-10 and lacking a quality victory, The Master's is on the bubble.

``We feel like if we can get (into the nationals), we can beat anyone in the country,'' said Jackson, averaging 13.1 points and 5.3 assists.

The Mustangs didn't have much a chance to beat CWV on Jan. 12 without Jackson and Armbruster (16.5 points a game). They were competitive that night in Beckley, W.Va., trailing just 43-34 at halftime and making a second-half run before losing by 15.

``Just to be in bed at the hotel, wondering what the guys were doing, I wish I could have gone. I was out of it,'' Armbruster said.

He's ready to go tonight. So is Jackson. Avila played with a broken finger on his right hand but has more mobility now.

Even with everyone available and the support of its crowd, The Master's is a decided underdog. CWV was booted boot·ed

out of the top spot after a 105-91 loss to Barber-Scotia (N.C.), which also defeated the Mustangs.

``It was an exciting ride, being No. 1,'' CWV coach Bob Bolen said. ``Now our focus is winning some games and getting ready for the national tournament.''

The Mustangs don't have that luxury. Even more than playing at home, desperation might be their biggest ally for triggering the upset.

``We've got to win this game and the Christian Heritage Christian Heritage can refer to:

game (Thursday) to have a chance to get to the national tournament,'' Armbruster said. ``It's huge. It's a make-or-break game for our season.''

THE MASTER'S VS. WEST VIRGINIA

Tipoff: 7:30 p.m., at Bross Gym

Division I rankings. The Cougars bounced back to nip Glenville College 95-90 on Monday night. CWV has talent inside and outside. F Ronnie Conway is among the nation's top rebounders and G Ed Suber was fifth in the nation in assists (seven per game). Conway had 28 points and 14 rebounds and Suber 25 points and six assists against Glenville. But it was F Anthony Scruggs who made the difference in the first meeting with The Master's. He was 11 of 15 from the field and scored 27 points in the Cougars' 89-74 win Jan. 12.

The Master's (16-10) update: Unlike the first meeting, when seniors Jacy Armbruster and Kenny Jackson were out with the flu, the Mustangs will be almost at full strength against College of West Virginia this time. The Master's shot just 33 percent (27 for 82) from the floor at CWV but should find the Bross Gym rims much softer. Junior G Tyler Hoffman has made 44.7 percent of his 3-point shots (72 of 161). Jackson, capable of exploding on the offensive end, is a 41-percent shooter from beyond the arc. One key to beating an athletic CWV team is sophomore swingman swing·man
