``Pinocchio,'' starring Roberto Benigni and opening in theaters today, is not being reviewed. The film was unavailable for screening at press time. A review will run later this week.

``Pinocchio,'' which opened in Italy in October to great business and mixed reviews, has suffered setbacks in its translation to English. Benigni, who plays the title character, initially dubbed his own dialogue, as did his wife, Nicoletta Braschi Nicoletta Braschi (born August 10, 1960) is an Italian actress, best known for her work with her husband, actor and director Roberto Benigni. She has also collaborated with American director Jim Jarmusch. , who plays the film's fairy princess. However, Benigni and Miramax Films decided the dubs weren't adequate and American actors Breckin Meyer Breckin Erin Meyer[1] (born May 7, 1974) is an American actor and producer. Biography

Miramax and Benigni decided to dub ``Pinocchio'' because the G-rated film is intended for children as well as adults, and kids have trouble reading subtitles. Benigni says a subtitled version of ``Pinocchio'' will eventually open in theaters.
