CHICAGO -- NMS Communications (NASDAQ: NMSS), a leading provider of communications technologies and solutions for converged and mobile networks, today announced general availability of the newest member of its Vision family of media servers, the Vision VoiceXML Server.

The Vision VoiceXML Server is designed to accelerate the development and deployment of revenue-generating voice and video applications such as video mail and voice/video messaging in 2.5G and 3G networks, satisfying the high demand for these types of applications among mobile users worldwide.

The Vision VoiceXML Server is compliant with W3C VoiceXML 2.0 and 2.1 specifications and can be used to build VoiceXML-controlled applications that can be deployed in IP/SIP, TDM/SS7 and 3G networks. Along with SIP-based IP video, the Vision VoiceXML Server also supports the circuit video standard 3G-324M. The Vision VoiceXML Server provides very high service availability, and servers may be easily added or removed from service to increase capacity or perform system maintenance.
