NL/NL adds categories, extends deadline for awards contest entries.

The Newsletter on Newsletters Awards Competition has added two additional categories and extended the entry deadline until March 14, 2008.

"Newsletter journalism is journalism that works, that produces real results," says editor Paul Swift. "Our awards program seeks to honor those newsletters which best achieve results for their readers."

The awards program also honors newsletter marketing that achieves results and newsletter design that makes it easy for the reader to read.

The new categories are:

* Most Financial Impact on a Marketplace. A successful entry in this category will be able to show that the article or articles led to a provable savings for a business or organization, or was responsible for increasing sales or revenue for a business or organization.

* Best Editorial, Commentary, Think Piece or Series.

Because of the additional categories, which were suggested by readers of NL/NL, the entry deadline has been extended to March 14. Late entries will be accepted until April 28, for an additional fee.

The awards competition is open to newsletter journalists and publishers regardless of whether the newsletter is a subscription newsletter or one published for free distribution by a business, nonprofit organization or governmental entity. Print, online and e-mail newsletters are all eligible.

Full details on the Awards Competition--including a new category for Public Service by a newsletter--can be found at www.newsletterbiz.com. Or call 301-384-1573.
