NISSAN ANNOUNCES EARLY LAUNCH FOR 1994 SENTRA MODELS

CARSON, Calif., Aug. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Strong sales and a dwindling inventory of 1993 Sentra models have prompted an early launch of the 1994 Sentra line to meet the continued demand for Nissan's most affordable sports sedan, Nissan Motor Corp. U.S.A. announced today.
"For the past few months, Sentra has been selling at a record pace, virtually emptying Nissan dealerships and prompting us to begin selling the '94 models early," said Earl J. Hesterberg, vice president and general manager, Nissan Division. "With the launch of the 1994 line, we expect Sentra to continue winning value-conscious sedan customers."
In conjunction with the introduction, Nissan also announced 1994 Sentra pricing, which reflects an MSRP increase of 4.3 percent, or $524, on a sales-weighted average basis over 1993 model introductory pricing.
Once again for 1994, the Sentra is offered in two-door and four-door body configurations and five trim levels. Four-door models include E, XE and GXE versions, while the two-door model is available in E, XE, SE and SE-R versions. All models are now arriving at Nissan dealerships nationwide.
Nissan also announced it raised prices on all 1993 240SX models on Aug. 2. The MSRP increase represents a sales-weighted average of $376, or 2.0 percent. The pricing action is because of current business and economic factors.
