NICT to Conduct GMPLS Feasibility Test on US-Japan Conncetion.

) workshop during the international conference of all-light networks, sponsored by NICT from September 7-13.

The feasibility test is a joint project between NICT, KDDI Corporation, and the U.S. based MCNC, a non-profit organization which runs NCREN NCREN North Carolina Research and Education Network . The GMPLS controlled light network will be connected from Otemachi city in Japan to Chicago between which optical cross connect equipments, OXC will be set up in the various cities.

The test will enable high definition transmission of movies in real-time.
