NICK TO KIDS: JUST THIS ONCE, DON'T WATCH US.

If your kids tune into Nickelodeon from noon to 3 today and veg out, they apparently will have missed the message. The network is holding its annual Day of Play, aimed at encouraging kids to drop the remote, get up and move. In the early afternoon, Nick is suspending its regular programming to show shots of kids jumping rope, shooting hoops and chasing balls. The message continues in interstitials between shows in the late afternoon, and it's capped at 6 p.m. with a star-studded special from Nick on Sunset Studios in Hollywood featuring music by Hilary Duff, Romeo and others, and athletes from the Athens Olympics Athens Olympics
