* Among women with suspicious breast lumps, those who were later diagnosed with breast cancer were no more likely to have experienced stressful life events in the previous five years than those whose lumps turned out to be benign. That strengthens the findings from earlier studies that stress--which is admittedly difficult to measure--doesn't contribute to cancer.
