The Kings on Tuesday signed 20-year-old forward Dany Roussin, their second-round pick in last month's draft, to a multiyear, entry-level contract.

--Laviolette to lead U.S. Olympic team: Carolina Hurricanes coach Peter Laviolette has been chosen to coach the U.S. Olympic hockey team next February in Turin, Italy.

Laviolette, 40, is 97-94-25 in two-plus seasons as an NHL head coach with Carolina and the Islanders.

--Wild sign two: The Minnesota Wild signed right wings Kyle Wanvig and Joey Tetarenko to one-year contracts. Both skated for the Wild's top minor-league affiliate, the Houston Aeros.

--Wesley re-signs: The Carolina Hurricanes re-signed defenseman Glen Wesley to a one-year, $1 million contract, bringing the 36-year-old fan favorite back for an 18th NHL season.
