BOSTON -- At Fall VON, NMS Communications (NASDAQ: NMSS), a leading provider of communications technologies and solutions for converged and mobile networks, today announced that Malaysian applications provider NGC Systems Sdn Bhd is using NMS's Vision VoiceXML Server to enhance its Genico(TM) 3G video SMS solution.

NGC Systems' solution enhances conventional text-based SMS to attract subscribers and increase usage. The solution, incorporating the Vision VoiceXML server, adds a new layer of mobile interactivity as mobile subscribers using 2G handsets can send and receive voice-based SMS messages, and subscribers using 3G handsets will be able to send and receive both voice and video-based SMS messages.

The application is convenient and easier to use than Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS) - subscribers do not need to download a client from the service provider and need only a single click to access the new application.
