NEWS LITE `IDOL' SWEETHEART TO RETURN JUST RESTING, MCPHEE SAYS.

``American Idol'' runner-up Katharine McPhee has missed the first week of the ``American Idols Live'' tour, blaming severe bronchitis and laryngitis laryngitis, inflammation of the mucous membrane of the voice box, or larynx, usually accompanied by hoarseness, sore throat, and coughing. Acute laryngitis is often a secondary bacterial infection triggered by infecting agents causing such illnesses as colds, . The Sherman Oaks-raised singer says she will probably rejoin the 51-city tour next week.

``I have heard a rumor that I will be missing the entire tour, (and) I can assure you that is completely false,'' McPhee wrote in a letter on the fan site katharinefans.com. ``I am looking to join the tour around the 21st. That is the doctor's order, not mine.''

McPhee's doctor, Sean Nassari, ordered ``total voice rest,'' according to according to

Last month, McPhee, 22, disclosed a long battle with bulemia, which she said she overcame before the start of the ``Idol'' competition.

The ``American Idols Live'' tour, featuring the show's latest winner, Taylor Hicks Taylore Reuben Hicks (born October 7, 1976) is an American singer-songwriter. Hicks got his start as a professional musician in his late teens and performed around the Southeastern United States for well over the span of a decade, during which he also released two independent , along with finalists McPhee, Paris Bennett, Bucky Covington, Chris Daughtry, Mandisa, Kellie Pickler Pic´kler
