Game show unable to pull `FloJo' week

On the day Florence Griffith Joyner died, a taped episode of ``Hollywood Squares'' featuring the track star was broadcast across the nation.

Monday's game show was the first of five this week featuring Griffith Joyner, who taped her appearances several weeks ago.

This week's shows already had been distributed by King World Productions to its affiliates when the 38-year-old former Olympic champion died Monday, and it was too late to replace the shows.

A graphic was shown at the beginning of Monday's show saying, ``This show was videotaped before the untimely death of Florence Griffith Joyner.''

Disgraced senator to wed former aide

Bob Packwood and the aide who stood by him during the sex scandal that drove him from office plan a walk down the aisle.

``We will get married before Christmas,'' Elaine Franklin said Monday. ``It's going to be at a very private location.''

Franklin was Packwood's chief of staff until he gave up his Senate seat in 1995. The 66-year-old Oregon Republican was accused of making unwanted sexual advances toward women.

Packwood, who is divorced, now runs a lobbying business in Washington. Franklin does political consulting.
