No playmate found in Hefner's spouse

Hugh and Kimberly Hefner, apparently working on a reconciliation, want the world to know that there was nothing - get it? - nothing between her and Donald Trump.

Yeah, the Deal Artist hit on her three seconds after the Hefner split went global earlier this year. And, yeah, she did go to a Knicks basketball game with him, but, according to the Playboy founder, ``She didn't make it with him.''

Hefner adds that she went out with Trump only after Hef went out with ``a Playmate that Kimberly has a particular thing about.'' Said Kimberly: ``I know exactly what the Donald is about. . . . I am definitely not in love with the Donald.''

Albert had resigned from MSG MSG: see glutamic acid.  in September 1997 and was fired by NBC after pleading guilty to a misdemeanor assault charge. He was accused of throwing his former girlfriend on a bed in a Virginia hotel room in February 1997, biting her on the back more than a dozen times and forcing her to perform oral sex.

Albert was criticized after a series of interviews granted in November for lashing out at his victim and making only a grudging apology.

Albert's new job takes him full circle; he began his career in the 1960s broadcasting New York Knicks and Rangers games on the radio and was the Knicks' TV voice for MSG at the time of his downfall.

In addition to calling the Knicks' games, Albert will anchor a local sports roundup starting Sept. 14.

Plea for help; Talk show helps mom find home for kids

, Jacqueline McClure was desperate to find someone to adopt her two daughters. She found new parents in a distinctly '90s way - through a daytime talk show.

McClure, daughters Tamika and Latasha and their new guardians appear today on the ``Sally Jessy Raphael'' show, which brokered the arrangement.

``I definitely think that (Raphael) did right by me and did right by my children,'' said McClure, now in a nursing home in Cleveland.

Debra Harder, network director for Adoptive Families of America, said it was the first time she had heard of a TV show helping arrange a specific adoption. While happy that the girls appeared cared for, she said she was concerned that they could be shortchanged by not going through traditional channels.

``I wouldn't like to see it become a trend,'' said Harder, whose St. Paul, Minn.-based agency publishes a magazine and gives information to potential adoptive parents adoptive parents Social medicine Persons who lawfully adopt children, who are generally married couples but may be single persons, including homosexuals; most APs are married .

McClure first appeared on Raphael's show March 24 to ask for help. Her daughters, ages 7 and 8, have different fathers, both of whom are dead, she said.

The 41-year-old Cleveland woman wanted to make sure the girls remained together and believed the show was the best and quickest way to ensure that.

``There are a lot of people out there who don't have a lot of money and they can't afford regular adoption,'' she said. ``I was scared to death my children were going to end up in foster homes. I didn't have time to wait.''
