Trump.

Maples was born in Dalton, Georgia to Ann, a former office worker, and Stan Maples, a real estate developer.

Maples later married Trump but has since split with the real estate mogul.

Lawyers have failed to arrange a settlement in the lawsuit by investigator James Mintz in a case that could reveal embarrassing details of the bitter 1990 divorce battle, including details of Trump's finances and his relationship with Maples while he was still married to Ivana.

``It's a case that really re-rears ugly heads,'' Ivana Trump's lawyer, Gary Lyman, says in Sunday's New York Post The New York Post is the 13th-oldest newspaper published in the United States and the oldest to have been published continually as a daily.[3] Since 1976, it has been owned by Australian-born billionaire Rupert Murdoch's News Corporation and is one of the 10 . ``This is something I'd love to settle.''

Mintz is seeking payment of his $250,000 bill, now up to $400,000 with interest. Ivana Trump contends he overcharged her and violated a $100,000 cap on spying services.

If no settlement is reached, the case will go to trial in Manhattan this summer.

Bridegroom wants big surprise at altar

Only one thing is missing from Dave Weinlick's wedding plans: a bride.

The 28-year-old intends to get married Saturday. He has the rings, the minister, the musicians, his tuxedo and a reception all arranged for a wedding in Minneapolis.

But he won't know who will walk down the aisle to him before she does it.

On the day of the ceremony, potential brides are invited to attend and bring their friends to Weinlick's bridal-candidate mixer, where they can screen him while his friends screen them. Then Weinlick's friends will vote, and he will marry the winner.

About four years ago, Weinlick got tired of being asked when he was going to get married, so he started answering, ``June 13, 1998.'' It became part of his shtick shtick also schtick or shtik

.

At first he thought he might have a party to celebrate the idea of marriage, whether he had a bride or not.

Then his friend and campaign coordinator Steve Fletcher suggested that he run a campaign and have a democratic wedding. As the date approached, the idea grew on him, and the campaign got into full swing about two months ago.

``The fact that this is not the norm is actually on my side,'' Weinlick recently said. ``Somebody who is less likely to go with the flow is someone I'll be compatible with.''

, said he really wants to get married and not just to keep his word about the wedding date.

``I like the idea of being committed to someone and really making the relationship work,'' he said. ``I think love develops. It's not just there.''

Most of the candidates so far are people he knows, but there are a few he hasn't met face to face. And he hopes new ones will surface.

Many have entered the running through his Web site. Others have contacted Weinlick by phone.

Herman Weinlick, the groom's father, doesn't like the idea and plans to skip the wedding.

``I wish him well, and I admire his independence in many things, including this,'' the elder Weinlick said.

``But I am not particularly happy with this event, which I think makes light of something which, to me, should be taken more seriously.''

Among his attributes, according to his campaign coordinator: He's well-educated, has good credit and a clean record.

When asked if Weinlick is wealthy, Fletcher said he has a ``wealth of knowledge.''

Matt Gundlach, a marriage and family counselor, says Weinlick's plan sounds like a great way to meet people but not a good bet for a successful marriage.

``There's a high probability he's going to get the wrong person,'' Gundlach said. ``I think usually, with our friends, we pick who would be good for us, rather than who would be good for the other person. No matter how good of friends you are, you don't know Don't know (DK, DKed)

Tessa Schwanekamp, who worked with Weinlick years ago, said the idea is ``completely insane.''

Still, she is single and might show up Saturday.
