NEWS CORPORATION LIMITED ANNOUNCES APPOINTMENT OF STANLEY K. HONEY
 AS EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT
 NEW YORK, April 24 /PRNewswire/ -- The News Corporation Limited (NYSE: NWS) announced today the appointment of Stanley K. Honey as executive vice president effective May 1. Honey will manage News Technology Group, a newly created division which will consolidate previously independent activities within News Corporation engaged in developing sophisticated new media technologies.
 Honey is currently the president and CEO of Etak Inc., of Menlo Park, Calif. Etak is the supplier of nationwide digital map data is in widespread commercial use, and is being designed into a variety of consumer products for use in vehicles, homes, offices and hand-held products. Etak's digital map databases cover 75 percent of the U.S. population as well as all metropolitan areas in Germany, France and the Netherlands.
 News Technology Group will include Etak Inc., News Datacom which has developed unique technology in the fields of encryption and media access control, an The Times Network Systems which develops CD-based electronic reference products. Etak Inc. is a subsidiary of News America Holdings Incorporated and both News Datacom and The Times Network Systems are subsidiaries of News International plc., News Corp.'s principal U.K. subsidiary. In addition to managing News Technology Group, Honey will continue as president and CEO of Etak Inc.
 The News Technology Group will be affiliated with, but separate from, News Electronic Data (NED), which News Corporation announced the formation of on March 11.
 Honey founded Etak in 1983, served as vice president of engineering from 1983 until 1989, and has served as president and CEO since 1989. Prior to Etak, he worked as a research engineer at SRI International from 1978 until 1983 in fields of radio-location, signal processing, and underwater instrumentation. He has a MSEE from Stanford University, and a BSEE from Yale University. Honey holds four patents in navigation and map display and is active as a navigator in international offshore yacht racing.
