NEWS & NOTES : TILDEN, MINYARD TO BE NEW MORNING TALK TEAM AT KABC.


Starting Monday, mornings won't be the same at talk stations KABC-AM (790) and KMPC-AM (710).

That's when KABC KABC Kaufman Assessment Battery for Children  presents its new morning team: Peter Tilden Peter Tilden is an American radio personality and the host of America's Earliest Morning Show, an overnight program heard on KABC in Los Angeles.

Prior to September 2007, Tilden's program aired nationwide on the ABC News & Talk satellite channel, heard on both XM
 and Ken Minyard Ken Minyard (born in 1940) is a radio personality, best remembered to be a partner on the radio with Robert Arthur. In 1988, he made a guest appearance on the television show Married with Children. On October 15 2006, after thirty-five years of being on the radio, retired. .

Tilden will move from KABC's sister station KMPC to replace Roger Barkley Roger Barkley (b. September 11, 1936 Odebolt, Iowa, USA; d.December 21, 1997, Duarte, California) was a Los Angeles radio personality best remembered for his work with Al Lohman as part of The Lohman and Barkley Show on KFI. , who was paired with Minyard for the past six years and will exit the station, it was announced Tuesday.

Tilden has co-hosted the KMPC morning show with Tracey Miller since 1994. Miller will continue at KMPC, and a new co-host will be announced soon.

The moves reflect the need for significant change in the direction of the KABC morning show, said Dave Cooke, KABC/KMPC operations and program director.

During the past year, the ``Ken and Barkley Company'' slowly dropped in the overall ratings to eighth place among morning shows in the spring report.
