NEWS & NOTES : SCI-FI CHANNEL'S `SIGHTINGS' CELEBRATES ITS 100TH EPISODE.

The show ``Sightings'' on the Sci-Fi Channel will celebrate its 100th episode at 10 tonight.

``Sightings,'' which focuses on paranormal paranormal,

 and supernatural phenomena, debuted on Fox in 1991, even before ``The X-Files.'' It is magazine style and travels the globe to explore paranormal curiosities.

It has been on the Sci-Fi Channel since Oct. 4, 1996. It also ran in first-run syndication.

The show looks into the spirit world, UFOs, crop circles, near-death experiences and mythology. Tonight's episode will feature psychics, UFOs and cursed grounds.

``Sightings'' is hosted by Emmy Award-winning news anchor Tim White There are several notable Tim Whites including:

Jetting for kids: Norman Lear Norman Milton Lear (born July 27 1922 in New Haven, Connecticut) is an American television writer and producer who produced such popular sitcoms as All in the Family, Sanford and Son, One Day at a Time, The Jeffersons, Good Times and , the producer who gave America Archie Bunker in ``All in the Family,'' is getting into the kids-programming business.

Visit Melrose: Fans of Fox's ``Melrose Place'' can relive the sex and scandal of the popular series right from the very first show.

Wednesday, cable's E! moves its repeats of the series from 9 p.m. to 7 p.m., starting with the show's 1992 premiere. From then on, it will run nightly, in order.

Wednesday's offering, the 90-minute series pilot, includes original cast members Amy Locane, Vanessa Williams, Andrew Shue, Grant Show, Josie Bissett, Courtney Thorne-Smith, Thomas Calabro and Daphne Zuniga.

``Melrose Place'' revolves around the 20-something inhabitants of 4616 Melrose Place, an apartment complex in Los Angeles.
