NEWS & NOTES : FOX PULLS PLUG ON `LOVELINE' BEFORE SHOW IS EVEN PLUGGED IN.Byline: Daily News Wire Services Some shows get canceled right out of the gate. Others stumble along, then get the ax. But ``Loveline,'' a new syndicated late-night call-in talk show, co-hosted by comic Adam Carolla Adam Carolla (born May 27, 1964) is an American comedian, comedy writer, radio personality, television personality and actor. Carolla achieved fame for several broadcast stints: Co-host of the radio show Loveline and practicing physician Dr. Drew Pinsky David Drew Pinsky (born September 4, 1958[1]), popularly known as "Dr. Drew", is an American board-certified internist and Addiction Medicine specialist. , has been quashed even before it premiered. Scheduled to begin Sept. 9, the midnight show was to feature Carolla and Pinsky dispensing advice on love and relationships before a studio audience. Each show also was to include a celebrity guest and call-in questions. The duo hosts a similar, successful show on KROQ-FM (106.7) radio. Sources attribute the show's demise not to any perceived deficiencies in the practice runs and taped editions, but to Fox's recent buyout of New World Entertainment. Apparently, the Fox-owned stations were unhappy over losing two hours of late-night time, in which most stations now run syndicated sitcoms, which bring in lucrative ad revenues. As of Jan. 13, the Fox-owned stations are scheduled to run the network soap opera soap opera Broadcast serial drama, characterized by a permanent cast of actors, a continuing story, tangled interpersonal situations, and a melodramatic or sentimental style. ``Bourbon Street Bourbon Street (French: Rue Bourbon) is a famous and historic street that runs the length of the French Quarter in New Orleans, Louisiana. Fox, it seemed, just said no. Mad about Carol: Comedian Carol Burnett is headed back to TV. Burnett has agreed to appear in a coming episode of NBC's ``Mad About You.'' She'll play the mother of series star Helen Hunt. The episode is slated to tape next month.
