NEWS & NOTES : FCC SAYS MORE TIME REQUIRED BEFORE IT HOLDS V-CHIP HEARINGS.

The Federal Communications Commission Federal Communications Commission (FCC), independent executive agency of the U.S. government established in 1934 to regulate interstate and foreign communications in the public interest.  has postponed its hearing regarding the v-chip and television's parental guidelines.

The hearing, originally scheduled for Thursday, has been moved to June 20.

The FCC (1) (Federal Communications Commission, Washington, DC, www.fcc.gov) The U.S. government agency that regulates interstate and international communications including wire, cable, radio, TV and satellite. The FCC was created under the U.S.  said it needed the additional time to sort through the public comments and deal with the technical aspects of the issue.

`Party' time: ``Party of Five'' stars Scott Wolf, Jennifer Love Hewitt and Mitchell Anderson will join the Fox drama's creators, Amy Lippman and Christopher Keyser, when the Activities Advisory Committee of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences presents a panel discussion and highlights of the award-winning show on June 12.

The program will take place at the Leonard H. Goldenson Theatre, 5230 Lankershim Blvd. in North Hollywood at 7:30 p.m. with a reception to follow.
