``48 Hours'' asked a group of women to pose as potential patients for a presentation about liposuction with County/USC lab technician Marco Luzuriaga, who allegedly uses a clinic in Tijuana, Mexico, to perform the surgeries. During the meeting, cameras show Luzuriaga making what he calls a ``diagnosis.'' Making a medical diagnosis without a license is a crime in California.

Baskin also talked with one of Luzuriaga's co-workers, Telma Santos, who said she paid him $2,300 for a tummy tuck tum·my tuck

. She subsequently developed a painful infection that put her in the emergency room.

Luzuriaga denies the allegations that he was diagnosing patients or practicing medicine without a license.

After County/USC was told about Luzuriaga's alleged moonlighting, he was immediately suspended without pay. The hospital is currently investigating the situation.
