NEWHALL DISTRICT TO BEGIN KINDERGARTEN SIGN-UPS EARLY.

Because of the conversion to a multitrack year-round schedule beginning in July, the Newhall School District The Newhall School District is a school district in the Santa Clarita Valley that serves the Valencia and Newhall communities within the city of Santa Clarita, California, as well as the Stevenson Ranch community in unincorporated Los Angeles County.  will conduct kindergarten registration earlier than usual.

Kindergarten registration materials will be distributed beginning at an informational meeting at 7 p.m. Dec. 3 at the district schools for youngsters eligible to begin kindergarten in the 1998-99 school year.

For those unable to attend the meeting, packets will be available in school offices after Dec. 3. Completed packets must be returned by Jan. 9.

Children born on or before Dec. 2, 1993, are eligible for kindergarten in July 1998, according to the state Education Code.

To register, parents or guardians must supply their child's birth certificate or other document verifying the child's birth date, as well as verification of immunizations for measles (rubeola rubeola: see measles.  and rubella rubella or German measles, acute infectious disease of children and young adults.
