NEW SEASON OF 'NIP/TUCK' GIVES VIEWERS QUITE A LIFT.

Byline: Valerie Kuklenski Staff Writer

WHEN WE last left Drs. McNamara and Troy, they were recovering from the near-death of their plastic surgery practice, having watched their most successful rival nailed by a lawsuit stemming from a show dog that died on his table while undergoing a hair transplant.

They also foiled one nasty smuggler who had been coercing them into removing drug-filled breast implants Breast Implants Definition

from his desperate immigrant accomplices. When the thug asked for facial surgery that would alter his looks enough to conceal his identity from authorities, they complied - by making him look like another baddy baddy (inf) nBösewicht m  on the 10 Most Wanted Most Wanted may refer to:

.

And Troy has steeled himself for fatherhood, only to find the baby he allegedly fathered with a white woman is of a different race.

No, really. Such is the interesting imagination of ``Nip/Tuck'' creator and writer Ryan Murphy.

Early life

).

It's a tough act to follow. The second season opens with yet another interesting patient, a young woman who wants major repair work on the scars left by a supposedly accidental gunshot wound. (Credit the Burman Studio for its continuing fine prosthetics.)

McNamara's marriage, which had been on the brink many times last season, seems miraculously healed, given the depth and breadth of the characters' problems with each other. It could be that they are united in their agreement that a visit from Julia's mother, Erica (played smoothly by Emmy and Oscar winner Vanessa Redgrave Vanessa Redgrave, CBE (born 30 January, 1937) is an Academy Award-winning English actress and member of the Redgrave family, one of the enduring theatrical dynasties. She is also a social activist for human rights. , Richardson's mum), is best when kept very short.

Erica is someone who always has an agenda, and this time it is her desire to feel sexy at 60 (or so). She wants a face-lift and will trust no one but her son-in-law to do the work.

The ensemble has its chemistry intact, and the surgery and sex scenes are as graphic as ``Nip/Tuck'' fans have come to expect. And while the story doesn't measure up to the first-season finale, it teases another interesting season of lifting, augmenting, nipping nip·ping
