Balladeer king Luther Vandross is back with his own label LV Records and some not-so-subtle tracks. Though ``Your Secret Love,'' (Epic) the album's title and first single readies listeners for Vandross' sultry sul·try

The album also includes a cover of the song ``Knocks Me Off My Feet,'' by Stevie Wonder, who paid Vandross a visit during the making of the album.

Vandross attributes the success of his 10-album career to his patented vocal delivery. ``I was never billed as the new Teddy (Pendergrass) or the new Marvin (Gaye). I think that having a distinctive voice is what allows an artist to have a long career.'' Vandross penned eight of the 12 album tracks and produced or co-produced the balance of the album.

Producer-songwriter-artist Kenny G also debuts this week with ``The Moment'' (Arista arista (ä·riˑ·st ). Not pressured to live up to his previous chart-topping albums (his last set, 1992's ``Breathless,'' was certified by the Recording Industry Association of America for sales of more than 10 million units), G just creates music. ``I am proud of what ``Breathless'' has done,'' G says. ``But I don't go into making a record with any itinerary other than that I want it to be satisfying to me. And I think (``The Moment'') is my best music ever, so I already know I've beaten anything I've ever done.''

``The Moment'' includes duets with singer-songwriter-producer Babyface, on ``Everytime I Close My Eyes,'' and sultry songstress song·stress

I'm not a prolific writer, but this time I got to pick and choose what fit.''

Though a result of what can be viewed as both a tragedy and a blessing, Tom Corson, senior VP of marketing for Columbia believes ``Repairs,'' is ``about the liberation and reawakening reawakening ndespertar m
