NEW PACT OK'D BY MOTION PICTURE-TV FUND HEALTH WORKERS.

WOODLAND HILLS - Members of the union for 450 nurses, technicians and other workers at Motion Picture and Television Fund facilities voted on Monday to ratify ratify v. to confirm and adopt the act of another even though it was not approved beforehand. Example: An employee for Holsinger's Hardware orders carpentry equipment from Phillips Screws and Nails although the employee was not authorized to buy anything.  a new work contract after nearly striking earlier this month.

 Hospital, Frances Goldwyn Lodge, and MPTF Country House in Woodland Hills, which serve thousands of entertainment industry retirees and their families.

``We're extremely happy with the new contract,'' Shaw said.

Phone calls to the MPTF on Monday were not returned.

A tentative agreement was reached Saturday between MPTF management and the Service Employees International Union Local 399, which represents the workers.

On Oct. 18, the workers voted to approve a strike if a new contract was not reached before Nov. 1, but both sides agreed to an extension of talks, and the tentative agreement was reached after industry mediators were brought in.

The MPTF provides health care to tens of thousands of entertainment industry workers and their families. More than 40 percent of the Local 399 members have been working at the facilities for 10 years or more.
