NEW MICROCOM RESELLER PROGRAM HELPS VARS MAXIMIZE SALES OPPORTUNITIES; "GET CONNECTED" PROGRAM PROVIDES EXTENSIVE RESELLER SUPPORT

 NORWOOD, Mass., July 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Microcom, Inc., (NASDAQ-NMS: MNPI) announced a new reseller program that will substantially increase VARs' ability to identify and maximize sales opportunities. Microcom's new Get Connected Program supports and enhances resellers' pre-sales and post-sales capabilities with both vendor-paid and shared-cost sales, marketing and technical support programs. Today, nearly 500 resellers are enrolled in the Get Connected Program.
 Sales call assistance, priority technical support, product training courses, turnkey direct mail programs, turnkey seminar kits, and demonstration and evaluation product programs are just a few of the components available to resellers through the Get Connected Program.
 "The bottom line is that there are thousands of resellers who want the kind of end-to-end support provided by Microcom's Get Connected Program," said Bill Andrews, Microcom vice president of North American sales. The seminars focused on effective methods for VARs to sell Microcom Bridge/Routers featuring The WANmiser Advantage. Step-by-step planning tools and procedures were provided to VARs who want to more effectively attract corporate buyers, particularly those responsible for making internetworking decisions. Microcom is planning additional seminars and programs oriented around its other product lines.
