NEW HPLC SYSTEM COMBINES POWER AND VERSATILITY

SUNNYVALE, Calif., Sept. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- A. Blaine Bowman, president and chief executive officer of Dionex Corp. (NASDAQ: DNEX), announced the launch of the new DX 500 HPLC Systems today.
The DX 500 is an HPLC platform based on compact, interlocking modules designed to provide maximum flexibility in an organized, high- performance environment. From this platform modules can be combined to meet the needs of any HPLC application.
For user convenience, all modules feature consistent front panels, menu driven commands, adjustable displays, and built-in diagnostics. High-speed, module-to-PC communications provide a unified system environment for real-time monitoring, intelligent diagnostics and digital data transfer.
The DX 500 is completely biocompatible, making it ideal for HPLC applications such as analysis of proteins, peptides, nucleic acids, carbohydrates and organic acids. Quaternary gradient and isocratic pumps made from inert, polymeric (PEEK) materials or stainless steel provide precise, pulseless flow at high and low pressures and are available in microbore or standard configurations.
The DX 500 offers a range of unique, high-performance detector modules. The AD20 is a programmable, variable wavelength UV/Vis absorbance detector with automatic calibration. The versatile ED40 electrochemical detector combines pulsed amperometric and conductivity detection into a single instrument. The CD20 provides ultra-high sensitivity conductivity detection. Photodiode, multi-wavelength and flourescence detectors are also compatible with the DX 500.
For integrated PC-based system control, the PeakNet(TM) Chromatography Workstation interfaces directly to the DX 500 HPLC. Using high-speed, module-to-PC communications, and intuitive Windows(TM)- based software, PeakNet provides single-point control and automation of all DX 500 module operation and data management tasks.
