Home Loans has dedicated a loan-servicing office that the top company official says is expected to employ some 400 people by October and double that within 1 1/2 years.

At Friday's ceremony, Countrywide Credit Industries Chairman Angelo Mozilo said the company is likely to add a second building in Lancaster.

``It's nothing but good things ahead of us,'' Mozilo said to applause from some 200 employees and civic leaders.

The 101,000-square-foot office building in the Lancaster Business Park was developed by Lancaster businessman Frank Visco and is being leased to Countrywide.

About 220 workers are already on the job in the building.

Most of the new employees are expected to be hired from the Antelope Valley This article is about the Los Angeles County region. For the census-designated place in Wyoming, see Antelope Valley-Crestview, Wyoming.
