``I'm I'm

Contraction of I am.

Our Living Language Speakers of some scattered varieties of American English sometimes use I'm instead of I've or I have in present perfect constructions, as in
excited to be working with the community,'' said Haendle, 28. ``(I'm excited about) the information that I am going to learn, the people I am going to meet and the opportunities that will be available to me.''

She got acquainted with chambers of commerce in college. While in the hotel and resort management program, the professors always wanted to remind students that there are many employment options, s out in the work world, one of which was working for a chamber of commerce.

She met with a few chamber officials and found out about the many good things they do in the community.

When she moved to Southern California Southern California, also colloquially known as SoCal, is the southern portion of the U.S. state of California. Centered on the cities of Los Angeles and San Diego, Southern California is home to nearly 24 million people and is the nation's second most populated region,  about a year ago from the Sacramento area, she had applied to a chamber of commerce in Hermosa Beach Hermosa Beach (hûrmō`sə), city (1990 pop. 18,219), Los Angeles co., S Calif., on Santa Monica Bay; inc. 1907. It is a residential suburb and a popular resort noted for its fine, sandy beaches and excellent surf. .

However, the chamber had only limited positions. She then took the event coordinator job with the Spanish Hills Trails Country Club.

While she enjoyed working at country clubs, she also looked to the future and starting a family. She will marry her fiance, Jim Mowrer, in September.

She inquired whether the Agoura/Oak Park/Conejo Valley Chamber of Commerce had any positions available. Officials there told her about the open United Chambers position. She applied and landed the job.

Haendle replaces Sarah Finn-Haskell, who was executive director for about a year. Finn-Haskell left to return to college.

One of Haendle's first major projects will be the second annual Mayor's Day Luncheon, which will be held at 11:30 a.m. Oct. 5 at the Warner Center Marriott.

The United Chambers of Commerce office is at 5121 Van Nuys Blvd., Suite 208, Sherman Oaks.
