``Plans for the coming year are to help with the comfort of cancer patients and their families during their stay in the hospital,'' said oncologist Evelyn Mendoza of the UCLA/Santa Clarita Cancer Center. ``It can be lengthy.''

During the news conference at the Valencia Acura dealership, Kirsch also talked about Valencia Imaging's partnership with Picker International and Fuji Medical Systems, and their plans to invest $10 million to $12 million for imaging technologies and services over the next seven years.

``We have a full arsenal to work with,'' Kirsch said. ``And most patients can be cured of their breast cancer with early detection.''
