NEW CRITERIA GIVE NETWORK WORLD MOST HIGHLY QUALIFIED SUBSCRIBERS

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. June 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Network World, the premier computer networking publication, today announced that it is instituting the most stringent set of subscriber qualification criteria in the industry. The three criteria allow the magazine to deliver a readership to advertisers that is far more qualified than that of any other publication devoted to networking.
One hundred percent of Network World subscribers must meet the following three qualifying criteria, which are subject to BPA Audit:
-- They must have purchase influence for at least one site in their
 company,
-- They must have multi-platform networks, and
-- They must purchase network products and services, including the
computers, applications and peripherals that comprise their
 networks.
"These criteria define what it takes to be a Network IS professional with the greatest buying power," said Colin Ungaro, president and publisher of Network World. "They are the barometer by which the subscribers to all other network publications should be measured. These criteria ensure that we have and continue to deliver the highest quality audience in the business."
Many publications only look at subscribers by professional title or industry served; but Network World goes a step further. "Our new subscription criteria ensure that Network World subscribers are decision makers who have the power to purchase all the products and services that comprise their company's networks," said Ungaro. "In essence, we qualify our readers before they become subscribers; they have to earn their label."
Network World, which has a circulation of more than 150,000, has traditionally enjoyed an influential readership. "An exclusive readership means volume buyers," said Debbie Winders, vice president of circulation. "Each of our subscribers spends an average of $7 million a year on their enterprise network computing environments. We continue to hone the quality of our subscribers to make sure they represent the highest possible level of Network IS professionals -- volume buyers who cannot be reached in other publications."
Network World, established in 1986, is the national newspaper of enterprise network computing. Network World is the fastest growing newsweekly in the networking market, providing Network IS professionals information on network products and services including managing their enterprise network computing resource for corporate competitive advantage. Network World is published by Network World Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of International Data Group (IDG).
