Cafe Melisse, a chic French and American bistro, recently opened its doors on Town Center Drive to serve a variety of delicacies for just about anyone. Chef Josiah Citrin and his wife, Diane, named the cafe after their restaurant Melisse in Santa Monica Santa Monica (săn`tə mŏn`ĭkə), city (1990 pop. 86,905), Los Angeles co., S Calif., on Santa Monica Bay; inc. 1886. Tourism and retailing are important, and the city has motion-picture, biotechnology, and software industries. - a four-star restaurant lauded for its scrumptious menu and considered one of the hottest special-occasion places in town. The cafe's interior is a French-style setting with a California sense of light and space. A wall of paneled windows lets in natural light, giving an indoor/outdoor feel to the porch area. The patio at Cafe Melisse can accommodate 20 people, with each table in view of the glow from a reworked fireplace.
