NEVADA POWER FILES FOR DECREASE IN RESOURCE PLANNING COSTS

NEVADA POWER FILES FOR DECREASE IN RESOURCE PLANNING COSTS
LAS VEGAS, Aug. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Nevada Power Co. has filed with the Public Service Commission of Nevada for a downward adjustment in rates due to lower than expected planning costs. The $2.1 million or .37 percent overall decrease in rates is due primarily to under budget expenses for resource planning during the period of July 1, 1991, to June 30, 1992. These costs are recovered dollar for dollar and do not impact earnings.
This is Nevada Power's ninth cost recovery filing for the company's resource plan. The resource plan is designed to provide a blueprint for reliable sources of future power supply at the lowest possible costs. If approved by the commission, the average residential customer using 1100 Kilowatt hours of electricity will experience a 24-cent reduction in their monthly bill.
