NETWORK WORLD EXPANDS COVERAGE OF KEY TECHNOLOGIES
 IN RESPONSE TO READER INPUT
FRAMINGHAM, Mass., Feb. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Network World, the industry's leading enterprise networking publication, today announced editorial enhancements in response to readers' requests for expanded coverage of key technologies, products and services. The changes include the introduction of new sections devoted exclusively to enterprise applications and internetworking.
"The format changes in Network World are part of a continuing evolution to meet readers' needs for timely, accurate and easy-to-access information," said Network World president/publisher Colin Ungaro. "We are committed to maintaining close ties with our readers to assure we're providing the information they require to make good business decisions in the rapidly evolving enterprise network market."
The format changes, to be implemented in the March 2 issue of Network World, are in response to results of recently conducted research. This research included written input from 1,000 targeted readers, phone surveys with 100 readers, and individual interviews with leading network executives at major companies.
The new Enterprise Applications section will cover enabling applications such as distributed database, e-mail and groupware that take advantage of enterprise network infrastructures. The Internetworks section will focus on building LAN to LAN and LAN to WAN networks covering such technologies as bridges, routers, gateways and intelligent hubs. These technologies were formerly covered in the Local Networking section, which will now focus even more coverage on LAN applications, products and management. The DataNet Architectures section will feature coverage of network architectures, transmission equipment, standards and network management.
The newspaper has also reorganized coverage of domestic and global voice and data services into a single services section. It also continues to offer its Management Strategies section on managing people, technology and user groups, and the Industry Update section with information on vendor strategies, partnerships and market trends.
Network World remains the only publication to offer the full complement of information essential to managing enterprise networks. In addition, Network World has set the standard in providing comprehensive buyers guides, product testing and in-depth features.
Network World, established in 1986, is the leading national news weekly for enterprise network strategies. Network World provides strategic information on how to manage the enterprise network for corporate competitive advantage. Network World is published by Network World Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of International Data Group (IDG).
