NETWORK IMAGING SIGNS AGREEMENT WITH DICKENS DATA VALUED AT $25 MILLION

HERNDON, Va., June 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Network Imaging Corporation (NIC) (NASDAQ: IMGX; Boston: IGX) today said it signed a non-exclusive distribution agreement for its patented SPANServer(TM) optical disk storage technology with Dickens Data Systems, Inc. of Roswell, Ga., the nation's largest IBM RISC System/6000 workstation distributor.
NIC officials said they expect the contract to generate $25 million in new SPANServer revenue in North America over the next several years.
Under the agreement, Dickens Data Systems will distribute the SPANServer optical disk library system to customers who operate IBM RISC System/6000 workstations on UNIX networks.
 Price Waterhouse Supply Accord
Separately, Network Imaging said it agreed to supply an undisclosed number of SPANServer systems to Price Waterhouse, which will use them to fulfill optical storage requirements of its integration projects. The firm is a key provider in the open systems integration business.
The SPANServer consists of three fully integrated components: optical disk drives, a robotic library or jukebox and the SPANS software, developed by NIC's Symmetrical Technologies division.
The SPANServer can store up to 1.5 terabytes of data or 25 million pages of information. It plugs directly into any Ethernet network, provides a complete file management capability to any PC or workstation operating on UNIX or Novell environments and is the only optical storage device that converts the optical disk into a network storage peripheral. Because of its conformance with open systems standards and its case of installation, the SPANServer has become the de facto standard for optical disk storage systems operating in a network environment.
Dickens Data Systems is a major distributor and systems integrator with more than 300 active resellers serving the UNIX marketplace. It is the world's leading distributor of the IBM RISC System/6000 workstation and manufacturer of communications and peripheral products for UNIX- based networks.
