A new business.
, PropertyGo.com, lets consumers do that kind of tedious shopping in cyberspace.

Best of all, PropertyGo's service is free to consumers.

And that is the company's hook.

The Internet is being flooded with a variety of real estate-related sites. By focusing on consumers rather than brokers, PropertyGo hopes to separate itself from the rest.

Company co-founder Mark Chase said he and partner Jeffrey Fish spent about 18 months working on the site, which went active late last month.

Their goal is to make it easy for buyers and sellers to connect.

``To our knowledge it's the only site that takes information traditionally that was closely held A phrase used to describe the ownership, management, and operation of a corporation by a small group of people.

by brokers and directly places it in the hand of consumers, business owners, property owners, lessors and lessees,'' he said.

The company has a nationwide database that has about 2,500 listings, most concentrated in the Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850.  area. The company has 10 employees. Chase declined to say how much he invested to start the company.

The site has listings from some of the area's biggest commercial real estate firms, including CB Richard Ellis CB Richard Ellis Group, Inc. NYSE: CBG is a multinational real estate corporation currently based in Los Angeles, California, U.S.A.. On December 20, 2006, the corporation, also known as CBRE, completed acquisition of Trammell Crow Co. in a transaction valued at $2. , the Seeley Co., the Piken Co. and Lee & Associates.

Additionally, if consumers can't find the kind of office, retail or industrial space they are looking for, they can post a free want ad on the site.

The site features detailed descriptions of about a dozen types of commercial property and soon will feature a search program that lets buyers find brokers in their area. E-mail alerts will also update buyers and tenants when a property is listed on the service.

Chase also developed a predecessor site called CIRES CIRES Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences (University of Colorado at Boulder)
CIRES Comite de Integracion y Reconstruccion para el Salvador (Spanish)
.com, which stands for Commercial Industrial Real Estate Search.

PropertyGo generates its revenue by charging property owner or brokers to list their buildings. The fee is $129 for three months for one property. The price per site decreases for multiple listings.

The database is updated daily and clients are required to update their listings monthly.

Most of the clients are brokers.

``It's a cost-effective way to get their message out to the largest number of people,'' Chase said.

Chase is a former broker who specialized in finding space for Internet companies. There definitely was some synergy between the two fields, he decided.

``I realized that the Internet just really made sense for marketing property, so I got out of the broker business to do this,'' he said.
