been a good year financially for the Newsletter & Electronic Publishers Association.

Instead of a loss of $30,000, as originally projected for the current fiscal year ending June June: see month.  30th, NEPA will actually end the year in the black. The final results will depend on the money that comes in from the June conference. If the conference receipts come in on budget, NEPA could wind up in the black by $50,000.

NEPA has more than $1 million in assets, including nearly $850,000 in cash as of the early part of this month, and all of the payments from the June conference have not been received.

Attendance at the annual conference was down slightly from last year's, but the 2000 conference revenue will actually be higher than in 1999 because of the change in payments for multiple registrants (see p. 1 story).

did a great job in budgeting. She prepared a realistic and conservative budget for the current year," one NEPA board member said, referring to the executive director of the association.

Meanwhile, the assets of the Newsletter & Electronic Publishers Foundation continue to grow. Nearly $50,000 in contributions came into the Foundation during the first ten months of the fiscal year.

Nearly half of that total, $23,668, was made to the David Swit Memorial Fund, which was established following his death last December December: see month. .

The Foundation had approximately $250,000 in cash and certificates of deposit as of April 30th of this year.
