NEIGHBOURS AXE `USELESS' EMMA; TV beauty in bad-acting row.
Emma was ditched following rows with bosses who claimed that her acting wasn't good enough.
The 23-year-old model stepped into the soap 18 months ago as a replacement for pin-up actress Kimberley Davies, who quit.
But last week producers of the Australian show told Emma that she was being written out.
In the story, the character she plays, Joanna Hartman, will leave for Britain to rejoin her husband.
Emma was already known as the face of Impulse deodorant commercials when she joined Neighbours. But insiders said that the blonde beauty suffered off-the-set backbiting about her talent.
One said: "She was called in to see the bosses and told that her acting was bad. They've always been harsh on models, but she had little ability and the role went to her head.
"When she started it was suggested she take acting lessons but after a while she stopped.
"She had decided she didn't need them any more. A lot of us felt she had become a prima donna.
"If she didn't like her hair and make-up she would change it herself. That made professionals angry because she would end up leaving lipstick and make-up over the face of the guy she'd had to kiss on screen."
A cast member said that, in a bid for fame, Emma had copied nearly everything Kimberley did.
The actor added: "If there was a shot of Kimberley in a low-cut dress on a magazine cover, you could bet your life that Emma would appear out somewhere in a dress with an even lower neckine."
