Friends and family say they have not heard from her since then, but her body's never been found.

Deardorff testified Friday he was washing his car that day when he saw Ann Mineko Racz driving by. He said he flagged her down, just to make sure the Raczes' oldest daughter would baby-sit that evening.

"She said, no problem; she'd be there," Deardorff said.

"When she left, she said she had to go because she had to get the kids something to eat."

A short time later, and Deardorff said he was unsure how long, John Racz drove off in his own car, in the direction his wife had just gone, Deardorff said. John Racz could have been following his wife, Deardorff said.

"He seemed a little bit intent as he went by me," Deardorff said. "He looked straight ahead."

Prosecutors are trying to convince jurors that John Racz killed his wife after following her as she drove off to McDonald's the afternoon of April 22, 1991.

They say Ann Racz's plan for that evening was to take her children back to a condo she was renting and make pizza for them.

On Friday, Ann Racz's niece NIECE, domestic relations: The daughter of a person's brother or sister. Amb. 514; 1 Jacob's Ch. R. 207. , Kathy Gettman, testified that when she went by the condo later on, she found a Boboli pizza crust crust

During cross-examination cross-examination: see evidence. , Racz's attorney, Darryl Mounger, asked Deardorff if he told a grand jury last year that Racz was three to five minutes behind his wife when he drove off.

Deardorff confirmed he said that.

"If you're leaving three to five minutes behind, you're not following someone are you?" Mounger asked.

"That's true," Deardorff said.

Testimony will resume on July 9.
