NEHA announces relationship with new test vendor, Environmental Health Testing, LLC.

NEHA is pleased to announce that it has a new test vendor, Environmental Health Testing, LLC (EHT). EHT will develop and administer new forms for the Registered Environmental Health Specialist/Registered Sanitarian (R.E.H.S./R.S.) and Certified Food Safety Professional (C.F.S.P.) examinations. The new relationship with EHT will allow NEHA to provide new and improved services to our candidates and administering agencies. "These two credentials," said NEHA Executive Director Nelson Fabian, "represent the foundation for the competent practice of environmental health. With this new relationship with EHT, NEHA is taking a giant step forward to assure employers and the public that anyone holding either of these two credentials has met the highest standards for our field of practice."

Larry Lynch, president of EHT, said his organization is "thrilled to have this opportunity to expand an already strong relationship with NEHA. For the past few years we have been a distribution arm for NEHA Training. Partnering in the development and administration of the R.E.H.S./R.S. and C.F.S.P. solidifies that relationship and advances EHT's efforts with NEHA in furthering environmental health and safety." EHT was formed in January 2000 as a partnership between Professional Testing, Inc. (PTI) and the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH). EHT's National Registry of Food Safety Professionals has expanded rapidly since its inception in 2000, to become the second largest provider of food manager certification examinations in the United States. NEHA is confident in EHT's ability to provide updated versions of our credentials.

Development work for the R.E.H.S./R.S. and C.F.S.P. credentials is to begin immediately, with an anticipated completion date of March 2006. In addition to updating the examinations, NEHA will also be updating the R.E.H.S./R.S. and C.F.S.P. study guides, to be made available in conjunction with the new examinations.

NEHA is very excited about having EHT as its test vendor and will also be exploring ways to enhance the services currently offered to candidates (i.e., computer-based testing) with EHT.
