NEC to Highlight WiMAX and Digital Microwave Radio Communications Strengths at WiMAX World 2007.

IRVING, Texas Irving (pronounced 'er-ving') is a city located in the U.S. state of Texas within Dallas County. According to the 2000 U.S. Census, the city population was 191,615; the 2006 estimate was 201,927 according to the North Central Texas Council of Governments, and 196,084 according to  -- The Radio Communications Systems Division of NEC (NEC Corporation, Tokyo, www.nec.com, www.necus.com) An electronics conglomerate known in the U.S. for its monitors. In Japan, it had the lion's share of the PC market until the late 1990s (see PC 98).

NEC was founded in Tokyo in 1899 as Nippon Electric Company, Ltd.
Corporation of America (NEC), a leading technology provider of network, IT and identity management solutions, announced today that it will showcase its global strength in wireless broadband High-speed wireless transmission of data. What is "high" speed is always a changing number. Wireless systems are typically slower than land-based, wireline networks. In the past, wireless broadband started at 250 Kbps, whereas land-based broadband was generally considered to start at T1  access technologies, and highlight how operators can drive new revenue-generating scenarios with WiMAX at WiMAX World 2007 Conference & Expo - held September 25-27, in Chicago.

Mobile WiMAX See WiMAX and 802.16.  is on the leading edge of the worldwide trend toward fixed/mobile network convergence, and NEC's system, built on a decade-long foundation of success in wireless broadband access systems, offers a flexible response to the diverse needs of network operators in different markets across the globe.

At the show, NEC will have two exhibit areas to show its combined strength in the wireless broadband access arena:

* Mobile WiMAX (Booth # 818): Leveraging its strong global WiMAX presence with field trials and a new Research & Development Center dedicated to WiMAX in Taiwan, NEC will showcase its Mobile WiMAX system, which facilitates convergence of fixed and mobile networks, using a flexible, standards-based architecture and wide-area, broadband, radio-access technologies.

For the first time, network operators, including telecom carriers and Internet service providers Internet service provider (ISP)

Additionally, for incumbent operators seeking for broadband packet data access in mobile environment, NEC's Mobile WiMAX provides a wireless solution that creates new services and added revenue streams for operators. Telecom Operators serving Hot Zone and outdoor areas using Mobile WiMAX can gain revenues in collaboration with Hot spot providers by enhancing coverage/consumer usage. The benefits of deploying NEC's Mobile WiMAX system, include: minimum investment, multiple service delivery including VoIP capability and the ability to leverage existing assets.

Mobile operators who are considering the expansion of 2G / 3G mobile networks or who wish to add value to their existing 2G / 3G networks, can also gain competitive advantages by deploying NEC's Mobile system. It offers fast, seamless migration to the new, revenue-enhancing services that today's users demand. Based on IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, New York, www.ieee.org) A membership organization that includes engineers, scientists and students in electronics and allied fields.  802.16e, NEC's Mobile WiMAX incorporates NEC's extensive experience and expertise in site-design optimization.

* Digital Microwave Radio Systems (Booth # 759): As broadband access markets including WiMAX are launched, and all-IP Next-Generation Networks begin to be deployed globally, the demand for point-to-point wireless access systems will continue to grow at a rapid rate.

To best respond to this demand, operators can use NEC's point-to-point microwave radio systems for cost effective backhaul requirements.

On display at WiMAX World, NEC will be highlighting its NLite[TM] family of digital microwave radios. The NLite series includes a variety of systems to cover small, medium and large capacity requirements to deliver enhanced bandwidth for increased backhauling and broadband demands.

In addition to its two exhibit spaces, NEC will hold a session on how operators can best leverage global assets to drive new revenue streams with Mobile WiMAX:

* Session Title: Leveraging Global Assets and Best Practices to Successfully Deliver Mobile WiMAX Solutions
