NEC Technologies Increases Participation of Award-Winning SuperScript Products in ChanneLink.

New Premier Printer Program Level Demonstrates Continued Commitment to the Reseller Channel and the ChanneLink Program

In a move that emphasizes the company's continued commitment to the reseller channel and its ChanneLink(SM) reseller program, NEC (NEC Corporation, Tokyo, www.nec.com, www.necus.com) An electronics conglomerate known in the U.S. for its monitors. In Japan, it had the lion's share of the PC market until the late 1990s (see PC 98).

 Technologies today announced the company has increased its participation of award-winning Imaging Division products in their ChanneLink reseller program. This new ChanneLink level, called the Premier Printer Program, is specifically tailored for imaging resellers in North America North America, third largest continent (1990 est. pop. 365,000,000), c.9,400,000 sq mi (24,346,000 sq km), the northern of the two continents of the Western Hemisphere.  and offers a new level of financial and technical support incentives for those resellers targeting the imaging and printing needs of small- to medium-sized businesses.

New Benefits

In addition to being eligible for the existing ChanneLink benefits which includes on-site and web-based training, increased sales tools, discounted demonstration units, the ChanneLink VISA card incentive, increased sales leads A sales lead is the identity of a person or entity potentially interested in purchasing a product or service, and represents the first stage of a sales process. The lead may have a corporation or business associated with the person(s).  and priority technical support, the new ChanneLink Premier Printer reseller will also receive these additional benefits:

- Free Authorized Service Center Certification - ChanneLink Premier

Printer resellers are eligible to become an NEC Technologies Printer Authorized Service Center (PASC PASC - Perceptional Adaptive Subband Coding ) at no additional cost. This may result in increased revenue opportunities for the authorized reseller by qualifying them to service NEC Technologies printers within and out of warranty.

- Enhanced Instant Rebates For All Imaging Division Products -

ChanneLink Premier Printer Program members will be eligible for instant rebates of up to five percent on all NEC Technologies printers including: the award-winning NEC Technologies SuperScript(R) 1260 and the new SuperScript 870 monochrome laser printers; the Silentwriter(R) 1760 and Silentwriter 1765, and the SuperScript 150C inkjet printer A printer that propels droplets of ink directly onto the medium. Today, almost all inkjet printers produce color. Low-end inkjets use three ink colors (cyan, magenta and yellow), but produce a composite black that is often muddy. . These discounts will be automatic when NEC Technologies printers are purchased from authorized NEC Technologies distributors such as Tech Data, IngramMicro, Merisel and Pinacor (formerly MicroAge).

To ensure that the ChanneLink Premier Printer reseller always has an NEC Technologies printer available, NEC Technologies will cross ship a unit directly to them at no cost. The faulty unit is then returned to NEC Technologies within two weeks.

ChanneLink Premier Printer reseller will be eligible for a co-promotional hyperlink between NEC Technologies' web site to their own. This allows customers visiting the NEC Technologies site to locate the ChanneLink Premier Printer resellers of NEC Technologies Imaging Division products. In addition, ChanneLink Premier Printer resellers will have a password that enables them to sign-on to a section of the NEC Technologies site that contains the latest imaging marketing and sales materials.

ChanneLink Premier Printer Program Qualifications

To qualify for this new level to the NEC ChanneLink program, the imaging reseller must have hardware/printer revenues of one million dollars or more per year and already sell and service laser printers to small and medium-sized businesses. If an interested reseller is not a current ChanneLink member, they must first join the program to be eligible for the additional ChanneLink Premier Printer Program benefits.
