 Corporation (NEC) announced an agreement with Telefonica Moviles Espana, S.A. for delivery of its Liberty Enabled Proxy. The solution enables the introduction of an easy sign-on environment for multiple service access by end-users through a single authentication process over WAP (1) (Wireless Access Point) See access point.

NEC's Liberty Enabled Proxy, certified by Liberty Alliance through its conformance tests (*4), enables terminal independent single sign-on An identification system that lets users log into multiple Web sites on the Internet with one username and password. Single sign-on systems are also used within an enterprise, enabling users to access all authorized resources in the local network using the same username and password.  services over WAP and i-mode. Traditional single sign-on adopts a centralized authentication system The combination of authentication server and authenticator, which may be separate devices or both reside in the same unit such as an access point or network access server. However, acceptance of this kind of centralized system by content providers or website owners is difficult as they may not agree on a single sign-on vendor.
