NEC Computers Inc., a leading provider of mobile, desktop and server computing solutions for the enterprise market, today announced the NEC Express5800/120Ra-1 server. The Express5800/120Ra-1 is a dual-processor-capable Intel(R) Pentium(R) III-based server providing high performance and availability in an ultra-slim 1U rack-mount form factor. The system is optimized for e-business applications, space-constrained data centers, and ASP/ISPs through its space-saving design.

The Express5800/120Ra-1 server combines advanced processor technology with the flexibility to support a variety of network-oriented applications. The high-performance, expandable system includes dual-channel Ultra160 SCSI controllers, up to 4GB of ECC (1) (Error-Correcting Code) A type of memory that corrects errors on the fly.
