NEC COMPUTERS INC. ANNOUNCES HIGH-END ENTERPRISE SERVER PLATFORM.

The Express5800/180Rb-7 combines performance with high-availability features, including 2 internal hot-swap hard-disk drives, 10 hot-plug PCI slots, redundant hot-swap power supplies, and redundant hot-swap cooling fans. The Express5800/180Rb-7 server is ideal for mission-critical applications that require computing power and system reliability.

Through its alliance with EMC, NEC Computers offers high-performance, high-availability storage solutions with the EMC CLARiiON FC4500 fibre channel disk array. The FC4500 is the center of a complete storage area network (SAN), offering industry-leading performance with up to 7 terabytes of storage capacity and full redundancy. The FC4500 extends the range of EMC storage solutions currently available from NEC Computers. Also available is a 14-drive disk expansion unit (DEU), capable of holding up to 1/2 terabyte of server-attached storage, and a factory hotload of Red Hat Linux Red Hat Linux, assembled by Red Hat, was a popular, "middle-aged" Linux distribution (not as old as Slackware but older than Ubuntu) upon its discontinuation in 2004.[1]

All Express5800 servers are shipped standard with the ESMPRO Management Suite software, which enables system administrators to continuously monitor, analyze, and manage client/server information and operation. The ESMPRO Management Suite software facilitates quick response to critical issues and provides tools for proactive planning and server administration, which reduces the risk of system downtime or failure. The updated EXPRESSBUILDER set-up and configuration software is designed to enable seamless system installation.
