Cablemas, which currently serves over 300,000 customers in Mexico, will begin its digital cable service deployment in Tijuana, integrating and utilizing several key NDS See eDirectory.

NDS will supply Cablemas with key products including NDS Open VideoGuard(TM) conditional access and NDS StreamServer(TM), a network management system. NDS Open VideoGuard is a smart card-based content security system that guards vital programming and is the basis on which all advanced interactive services are built. NDS StreamServer(TM) is a network management system that allows the numerous parts of a digital cable system to operate as a single, integrated system.

Additionally, the rollout will feature the NDS Electronic Program Guide; NDS VideoGuard Administrator Monitoring System, an SNMP-based system which monitors all NDS subsystems; and NDS Verifier Set-top Box The cable TV box that sits on "top" of the TV "set," although it is often located several feet away in an equipment rack. The set-top box descrambles the premium channels and provides a tuner for the higher cable numbers that very old TVs did not support.  Software, which acts as an interface between the middleware and conditional access in the set-top box.
